I have 2 blogs that I am currently working on but haven't had the time to finish them. It would have been really easy for me if its something about my personal experience but it is not. The topic of the blog is about our Earth and the danger it faces. Most of you who are interested in this topic might have seen it or read it but I still want to write it on my blog.
Oh, before I forget let me tell you about an experience I had with one of my interview with a head hunter. I will need you guys to comment on this, please make sure to write your most honest and sincere opinion.
After filling out the application, I waited for one of the Senior Recruiter of this company for the interview. He came in and apologized that his manager would not be able to sit with me due to an urgent meeting he needed to attend. It was really not a big deal on my part so he proceeded. This is not the first recruiter I have met with and they all have different ways conducting their interview process. In this particular one, I was asked if I have a specific company and a dream job. In my stupid head, my answer would have been to work for the White House. But of course I did not spur that out. I asked if that question is necessary because I really have never thought of it. He said that it is essential to know because they could use this as a basis on what type of industry I would be most suited for in relation to my job experience. Hypothetically, if I have said I would love to work for an aircraft company that means they will not market me to any other companies which intern would leave me with a very few chance of landing a job. I told him this and he suggested that I should be SELECTIVE of the companies I applied for or consider so I don't jump from one job to the other. In response to his suggestion, I believe I have explained my reasons for leaving the jobs I have had in the past which was not the due to my feelings toward these companies for but due to personal circumstances.
Now, I need your responses. I am aware that it was a suggestion but is it responsible? If you are in a situation as I am, single mother who is paying mortgage and day care. Will you as a recruiter give an applicant such advice or suggestion?
