Travel Space and enjoy the Blue Planet

The Universe (TV series)Image from Wikipedia
My addiction and attachment to my laptop overpowers my exhaustion. Hoping from one blog to the other while chatting with my sister and some of my friends. Suddenly it dawned on me that I haven't really checked my Reader. I start scrolling through it and landed on my ever favorite site, DISCOVERY. Every night I look out my window I always wonder how beautiful it must be to see our Planet from up above. How beautiful must the universe look? With several gases and debris floating in space, I am aware the universe is not as calm as it look on a big screen tv while listening to Pink Floyd.

Two years from now A California aerospace company will be joining the space tourism industry by releasing THE LYNX. It is a two-seat rocket ship capable of suborbital flights to altitudes more than 37 miles above the Earth. One of my question is are these rockets ENVIRONMENT friendly?

John Joined the LAPD

When I first moved here in the US, I stayed at my Godfathers house in LA for quite sometime. There I hang around with my cousins John and Mike. We have lost touch for awhile and reconnected through social network MySpace and Friendster. John joined the Marine Corp and was stationed in Japan for a couple of years. After that he decided to join the LAPD, as a congratulation I searched the net to find the best gift for him. Here I find, Blackhawk holsters. Since he is roaming LA as a State Police I thought this would be a remarkable present.

Filipino Blogger of the Week 101

A week ago I wrote a blog about being Nominated for the Filipino Blogger of Week 101. Toni/non-blogger have mentioned this to me and I am oh so thankful for that information. These poll was created by The Composed Gentleman which originated back in April of 2006. I believe that this has been an excellent way for newbies to get traffic in there site. For that, I am thankful to be nominated. Like the other addicted bloggers out there, I check my site everyday, every hour as a matter of fact. And there I saw that My BABUYAN Island was selected to be the FILIPINO BLOGGER OF THE WEEK 101. To everyone that voted, thank you very much. As a gift, I would like to host a contest. I am asking those people with excellent skills if possible to create a cutsy logo for my MISS PINK BIIK ISLAND. The champ will be getting $25.00 paid through their PayPal account. Are you up to it? Let me know. Again to the bloggers who voted for my Island thank you very much. Most especially to Reyna Elena, The Composed Gentleman and Buraot. Blogger Gadgets New Look

I have been checking out Blogger Buster almost on a daily basis. The tutorials she have provided to blogger user are really easy to follow to novice users with no CSS and HTML backgrounds. Her site is really helpful and provides you with different templates she and others have created. On my visit today, her new post is about Blogger Gadgets. Instead of seeing Add New Page Element you will see Add New Gadget. To be able to view this you should log into draft.blogger.com.

The new feature they have on the Link List, instead of entering name it automatically pulls the website name on to your link. I guess google is really trying to improve blogger to make it more convenient for its user.

Financial Troubles = Solutions

It has been really depressing reading the news and reports pertaining to our economy. Real Estate sales has been stagnant which makes it tough for people wanted to get out of their subprime loan. Due to this hullabaloo, many home owners have gone to foreclosure lost their houses and their credit scores started depleting. Acquiring or refinancing is even harder now a days because of these issues.

I am starting to feel the stretch of all this events in my own life. Not only that gas prices keeps increasing but the war in Iraq is causing financial drain on our economy. What I have read on MSN today on how the month of March shows Consumers mood is signaling recession. It just makes me cringe.

What alternatives do we have now? Some people have been tapping on their 401k to get ahead on their debts paying their credit cards bills, car repair cost and other necessities. Let's face it. Some people do these and then end up maxing out their credit card again. I think it is part of human nature that we could not resist the temptation on swiping our credit card for a new wardrobe which we don't really need. Let's acknowledge the fact that we tend to just brush it off and deal with it later. Now you leave on the street with your Coach bag, an expensive shoes, Armani, Gucci and other ridiculous stuff. Trust me if you can't afford to pay cash for it, you don't need it. You are just making all of those credit card companies suck you in for more greens while you struggle and start eating sand. Credit card are for those who has the money and are establishing their credit. It is not a magical card that makes you reach unless you own the credit card company.

So now what options do you have? If you would ask me. if I am in that situation I would choose to get a short term loan with a reasonable interest rate. For instance, you need to pay your electric bill right away, or car payment things that are necessity where do you go or what can you do to get this taken care off. A friend of mine have gone through such problem and retorted to taking advantage of payday advance. She does makes a decent living but due to an avoidable event she needed cash right away. The application is easy and convince is not even an issue. "No Sweat." as she would say. The only requirement was for her to have a direct deposit account and Viola! The sun is back on her side. She used the company Easy Online Pay Day Loan. They are working with several lenders so you have great chances on getting approved. Now as all things have settled down in her life so as her financial stability.

Stand Off Shut down Walt Whitman Bridge

Photo taken from MyFoxPhilly.com
As I am entering this blog, there is a stand off on the Walt Whitman Bridge. The cops shut down both direction and causing major traffic between New Jersey and Philadelphia. The chase started at Bellmawr, NJ. From what I've read and watched, he made a sudden stopped on the bridge and the cops currently surrounding his vehicle while trying to negotiate with him. On board the Escalade is a woman and a baby.

Luckily my work is 3 miles away from where I live. Sadly for the people sitting on the bridge and stuck on traffic, it might take them hours before they would be able to get home.

I will never know

I am running out of entries to write. Should I start giving pointers on how to revive your boring relationship? Spicing things up in the bedroom with your lover? Yeah right. Anyway, Clementine and I went to High School together. After hanging up with her. Tada! Light Bulb! I will dig back into my past and try to remember as much as I can about hmmm I will be calling him Red. (tuninunino...)

Ewok is a store right across my fathers agency. The High School I went to was not to far from where my fathers office, so my lunch break was mostly spent there. On the right side of his office was another Catholic School. This is where it all began. Back in my Junior year in high school. When I have a few minutes to kill I would walk across the street and stop at Ewok. What they sell is too much of a blur to me right now but I remember how much I love their burgers. As I was looking around the store, suddenly I had this feeling that someone was starring at me. Do I have ketchup on my face? Good thing they have several mirrors there, I checked myself out immediately. All was clear. No dirt, just a pretty face (I was very conceited remember WAS). He approached me and said, "Hi."

"Donna, right?" he asked. He looks a little geeky, dark and cute. "Yes, that's me. And, you are?" extending my hands. In my head, I know he would like to ask for my number and immediately I was ready to give it to him. But then he walked away, his friend who looks pal, skinny and with slanted eyes was approaching. He was really not my type. I have the thing for guys who has a little meat and with a little color. "Did I say something wrong?", I asked myself. Apparently, it was not him who liked me. It was his friend Mike.

I was a bit disappointed but I gave him my number anyway. Dating for me at the time was just talking to someone on the phone and connecting with them. No sex! Yes Clemetine no sex! I may have had several boyfriends back in high school but never really slept with any of them. Days passed and no phone calls. Until, I saw the dark skinned dude with the geeky glasses at the store. He told me that his friend finds me very aggressive and backed off. Well I guess I really am the master on how to scare guys away. We both laughed.

It was the beginning of our connection. We would spend hours on the phone having lengthly conversations. Talking about the common people we know. Things that happened at school, homeworks. We never seem to run out of things to talk about. I think if I remember it correctly his mother would threw slippers at him to get him off the phone. A few more weeks passed, we started having lunches together. We were really in separable during those times. He was the sweetest and best friend a girl could ever have. One day he was walking with me waiting for a ride so I could head back to school for my afternoon classes. He grabbed my hand and said "Open it later.".

The ride back to school seemed forever. Come to think of it, I could have read it on my short ride to school. But I waited. I walked straight towards my cousin and friends. Sitting with my back turned to them, I was excited opening the note he handed me. It was a drawing paper. On it was a man holding hand with a woman watching the sunset by a bay. Below it was the lyrics of "Ever Since the World Began". "Show off" I said to myself. I flattened it out and place it in between one of my folders.

"Good Evening, may I speak with Red, please.", I said as polite as I can. As soon as I get him on the phone, I start rambling about the rest of my day at work. The homework I did not want to do. And somewhere in between I asked.

"Was that the lyrics of the song you were telling me last night?"
"Yes, it is do you like it." he said.
"Are you kidding me? The sketch is so beautiful, you should be painting and stuff. Show off!"
Proudly he said, " I do, I even have a sketch of your face and I was not showing off"

I brushed it off and went on with my ramblings. Months have passed and it was Valentines Day. He was telling me about a girl he likes and if I could look at the card he got her. "Sure, I will meet you at Ewok lunch time.", I responded.

The next day, after having a delicious lunch with my Daddy dear. I went across the street to meet with Red. He handed me the card he bought " To my very special friend." I frowned and complained, "SPECIAL FRIEND" you have a special friend other than me. I was pissed really pissed! I was his best friend no one else is allowed to be special. I told him you could have gotten her a card saying to my special someone not special friend. Not realizing, I was being really ridiculous. I got so upset and walked out.

Next day was Valentines day and I met with him again at the store. In the back of my head, I was hopping he have forgotten how childish and spoiled I was. So I asked how the girl reacted after giving her the card. I even asked about the rose I told him to get her. He said, "She don't need it." "Ok retard, why are you having lunch with me when you should be having lunch with her. It's valentines day. " I said. He just gave me some answer and I did not really care. In my head, I know its better I get to have lunch with him . We started walking toward the next street so I could get a ride to get back to school then he handed me a beautiful long stemmed rose and a card. I was really surprise. I opened the card and it says "to my special someone". My reaction and the first words that came out of my mouth was "Are you insane? Did you read the cards before you write on them, you gave her the wrong card." He looked at the card and look back at me and said. "No, its right. You are my special someone".

A few weeks passed, I started going out with one of his school mate. We will be calling him ben. Why you might ask? We never really discussed being together. To that we agreed that our friendship was more important As days go by, I was seeing less and less of him. To the point I was feeling he was shutting me out.

Another week has passed. The phone rang, "Hello, may I speak with Donna?". "I guess you heard? What I don't understand is how come you just dropped me like that? I thought we were the best of friends. Red!" "Are you ok?", he asked. I wanted an answer from him. How I was feeling towards my break-up with Ben was not as important on how he just stopped talking to me. "I tried to call you so many times and you weren't taking my calls. What the hell is wrong with you?", I screamed. He told me that Ben's friends was teasing him that he was jealous. To avoid argumentation, he just backed off. I felt really bad for him and apologize on how I reacted.

Years past and we were both off to college. New doors have opened. Meeting new people. He was busy at his end and so was I. We still manage to keep in touch but tried so much to not talk as much as we used to since the people we were dating does not feel comfortable with our closeness.

After I graduated college, I hear from him less and less. But I wasn't really that concerned until the moment came that I have to leave the country. So many times did I attempt to see him before I leave but he could not spare me some time. "Red, I don't know how long I will be away. Can you please find sometime?". His answer was, "Donna I told you I can't, Babe really don't feel comfortable when I talk to you what more if I see you."

I left forgetting everything about my past. Leaving everything at the NAIA. A year have past and suddenly, I receive this letter.

When you said you were leaving, I thought its just the same as your other trips quick and in a few weeks later you will back. Months passed and then it dawned on me how much I really care for you. How much I am missing you? You're no longer a phone call away. I have taken you forgranted. Why I never have the courage to tell how much I love was another mistake I could not resolve? All I have now are memories of the times and moments we have shared. I love you always. Red.

I will end it on this note. There were more but I need to go to bed. Hope you enjoyed it.

Hello fellow bloggers. Some might wonder what I am talking about. A favicon also known as a page icon or an urlicon, is an icon associated with a particular website or webpage. • Upload it to your photo host such as pages.google.com or photobucket
  • Open your template-->edit html
  • Go look for the code below:
if you don't find this you can copy it and paste it before the end head tag.

MAKE SURE TO REPLACE IT WITH THE HTML LOCATION of YOUR FAVICON LINK.

Batsto Village in the Heart of the PInes

Two weeks ago was Italiano's birthday. It was really nice out and we decided to go for a walk in the park. Our choice was Batsto Village. This is a historical park located in Wharton State Forest in Southern New Jersey. Let me give you a little history about the place. This site was part of the Batsto Iron Works built by Charles Read along the Batsto River back in 1766. For more information about its history, please visit there site at here.

Joseph Wharton bought this property back in 1868. Can you imagine the workers homes where leased at $2.00 a month. But they have farm rules but I could not phantom surviving if you take me to that time period. Workers must do their morning chores including breakfast before 6 in the morning. A bell will ring and immediately they have to start working. Unnecessary talking or unnecessary noice of any sort or smoking during work hours where prohibited. Really if you want me to go coo-coo (although I am borderline) take me back to that era. Anyway, eere is a picture of the workers home.

Easter Sunday 2008

Since my family is nowhere near, our holidays are mostly spent with Italiano's family. The similarities in our culture and religious belief made it easy for me to connect with his family. He is blessed (like me) with a loving and wonderful parents, siblings, aunt and uncle. (sipsip!!! in English suck-up) I was not able to take pictures of the main course. Everything stops when its chow time. Trust me it has always been that way.

While his parents were preparing dinner, several aperitivo were served. They have pepperoni, olives, roasted pepper, bruchetta, bread and my two favorite, Italian hard sausage and cheese. This year, Italiano and I decided not to get the kids Easter basket. Instead, we did an egg hunt. Inside the plastic eggs were Cadbury Chocolate and some cash. The three kids where running around the room searching for the eggs. It was so cute.

His family serves lasagna for starter. Then the rest of the meal follows. This Easter, we had pork, broccoli rabe, broccoli, sweet potatoes and apple sauce. My taste buds still savor every bit of it. Then there's the dessert. Cakes, brownies and freshly brewed coffee were layed on the table. The one thing I enjoy on their family gatherings are the connection they have. It does make me think of times I had with my family. Those moments we will be eating and talk about almost anything. I really miss them.

So, how was Easter like?

Nomination for Filipino Blog of the week

Today was a bit tough, waking up with a pounding headache never leads to a good day. Probably its the tons of chocolate I pig-out on last night. Getting out of bed was already difficult because I stayed up late surfing the net, then add a headache to it is really unbearable. But we are grown adults and things like this does not impede us for doing our responsibilities. So I started to get moving and went to see Koysmit. He is the Royal dog of Matilda who is so ugly which makes him so adorable. And everytime I call him Fugly, Italiano gets really aggitated and says,"How dare you say his ugly? He is so cute and beautiful". My response would always be, "And that my dear is the reason why I don't believe you when you say I am beautiful and I am not fat?."

After walking Koysmit, I started to make breakfast. We have some errands that needed to be taken care of today before we go to New York for Easter. Our breakfast menu for the day was Reno Corned Beef, Bacon, Eggs, Fried Rice and toasted Bagel. I should have taken a photo to post but of course I was not thinking of it at the time. I am aware that these are Not a healthy choice but its all about moderation and we don't eat it everyday. (My reasoning)

It's was almost 630 when we got home. I immediately turned my computer on and see if someone left me a message on my blog, check my emails incase my sister-in-law sent me the pictures taken from Baguio and to see if Clementine is online. As I was going through my Cbox, Toni/Non-Blogger left me a message saying I was nominated for FILIPINO BLOG of the Week. I was surprise and thought he might have mistaken me for someone else. As I scroll down, I saw TalkSmart leaving a message saying that this blog is nominated. So I guess I reallywas nominated. I followed the link which took me to The Composed Gentleman site. There it was My Babuyan is nominated.

I am not sure who to address this too but let me say THANK YOU. Thank you for the nomination. My pigness is highly flattered and thankful to all of you who visits and reads my blabs. A morning headache is not so bad after all.

In case you would like to vote for me, please visit The Composed Gentleman site.

My beloved Philadelphia

It has been awhile since I revisited my memory bank. Lets revisit the time when I first visited Philadelphia. I flew from LA to Philadelphia back in July of 1997. The city is filled with history and fine arts. During my visit, me and my friends went to Chinatown for a late snack and painted the city red. We were staying at the beautiful bed and breakfast in Olde City. We indeed had a great time that night. From one bar to the other, until the wee hours of the morning. We were really obnoxious that evening and was singing "in the jungle the mighty jungle the lion sleeps tonight" over and over. The laughters was none stop that the people sleeping next door was banging on the wall. Amy for some strange reason started making her famous bedroom sound. The people next door banged the walls even harder this time. A few more minutes the night clerk called our hotel room requesting us to keep it down a knotch.

We did not sleep well at all and yet so energized to visit the famous Philadelphia Museum of Art with Rocky Balboa's Statue and the Franklin Institute. I was in awe seeing all beauty of this city. The view from Penns Landing alone was just an icing on the cake. Did I mention that the Liberty Bell was a few blocks away from the hotel we stayed in? This city stole my heart. A few months later, I packed and moved from LA and stayed in the beautiful city of Brotherly Love.

Before finalizing your next travel plans, visit Trusted Tours & Attractions. They offer several packages for your destination needs. From the cobble street of Philadelphia to the beautiful San Diego zoo there's is no better guides to use.

Talaba means "Oysters"

What is an oysters favoite harbor? Pearl Harbor.

Lets go back into my reminiscing bucket. When my Grandfather was still alive, we always have this Sunday gathering. It was our own Sunday Feast. We have Litson(roasted pig), Kare-Kare (beef stew with peanut butter sauce), Crabs, Shrimps and Oysters.

I still remember my cousins and I would sit around a tiny round table made out of narra my grandmother would place a big banana leaf on it for us to use as plate. I always look forward to this days because of my passion for oysters.

Now a days the number of people enjoying Gulf oysters is growing. Who would not like it? This mollusks is a low calorie protein. But we need to be aware of the risk if its not cooked properly. A disease called Vibrio vulnificus is a deadly bacteria. You can find out more on this by visiting BE OYSTER AWARE.

What a day?

Good Friday. I woke up early today to take Matilda to the airport in Philly. Regardless, I still need to get up early since Italiano have to be at work. While preparing breakfast for Precious, I called me Daddy Dearie because it has been a few days now that I have not spoken to them. It was a great morning.

Precious and I have to stop at the mall to grab a couple of shirt for Easter Sunday. He wanted to get a Pink shirt?! A girl at school have told him (I really think he likes her) loves that color so I guess he got influenced. Anyway, on our way out of the store my sister-in-law BRUhilda (love yah) send me an IM. I told her I am still out and will have Precious chat with her.

We were on Interstate 95 and was talking to Precious on what he can and can't do while chatting with his Tita(Aunt). Then I look up my rear view mirror and holy CRAP. A STATE POLICE car with his lights on. I moved to the right lane thinking (and hoping) he would pass me. But with my luck HE WAS PULLING ME OVER!!!! He said, "Do you know how fast you are driving?". My response was no. First and foremost, I told myself I just got off the exit. Second, I was just following someone in-front of me. He said "You are driving 90 miles an hour." My jaw dropped! That's reckless driving! I was almost in tears. As the cop was walking away with my drivers license, my phone rang and its Italiano. I told him what just happened and he tried to calm me down. A few minutes later the good looking State Cop approached me. He said, "Ma'am, I gave you a break, I lowered it from 90 to 74 miles. Be safe and have a great weekend."

*SIGH* At least it is less than what I thought it would be. So I drove like a normal tax paying obedient citizen.

T.G. for TiVo

Lets rewind for a second. A few years ago, when we will be out a certain time and our favorite TV show will be on. We get our VCR ready and set the timer to record. If it's messed up we just hope and wait for the rerun! Then the cable and various dishes came into our lives. Our televisions change and vcr's are now faced out with dvd and dvrs. Then there is TiVo.

I so love this high technology we live in. Although I am aware of some of its disadvantages but we will tackle that next time. How TiVo works? You simple press the record button 2x on the spot of your favorite show and voila! It will record that show on that channel anytime of any day! Isn't this amazing? Now we skip through all the commercials and simply watch our favorite show.

Here's a list of my current favorite TV shows and reruns, it is not in order
1. Prison Break (the Schofields are so hottest)
2. 24 (Jack Bower Yo!)
3. Friends (I'll be there for you!)
4. The Universe
5. Lost (I really get lost)
6. Heroes
7. Everybody loves Raymond
8. Namaste Yoga (I have it recorded)
9. Office (do you have co-workers like them, I know Reynz have Doreen)
10. Notorious
11. Forensic Files
I also love feature documentaries on National Geographic, History, Science and Discovery Channels.

YOU HAVE BEEN TAGGED! What is your favorite TV Shows?

Finally, I am approved!!!!

After joining and enjoying the world of the BLOGGERS, your highness "REYNA ELENA" asked if I would like to make money. My immediate response was "I will not clean your house.". Ha ha ha... He said "Gaga (meaning stupid), why don't you try monetizing your blog?" Then the light bulb turned on. At first, I was a bit hesitant and came to realize that I have nothing to lose if I do. It would even help me with my writing skills. After a few entries in Febuary, I went and signed up with PayPerPost. I was denied! Since monetizing my blog was not my first intention, I am a bit taken aback on how I felt after reading that email.

Few weeks passed, I was chatting with Princess MALEN and told her my story about PayPerPost. She told me try and resubmit my blog that probably it would be approved. I did follow Malen's advise and resubmit my blog. Two days from that day I received an email from PayPerPost. I WAS APPROVED!

Do you have the same story? Where you denied at first and tried againg? Share your experience we novices would love to here from the experts!!!!

Thanks to Reyz and Chuva!!!!

My 106th Post

Oh my Goodness! I did not realize I would make my 100 post. My brain oftenly is fried by the time I sit infront of the computer and here I am reached my 106th post. I started blogging July of last year and stopped for a short while and was revived right after midpart of January. I guess I have been bored with Friendster, MySpace, Second Life and Multiply.

I know that they all offer blogging but this seems to be different. Hmmm... Wait let me go goglyeyes it and see what i find...

Interesting, I guess because Friendster,Facebook, MySpace and Multiply are social networks you really could not compare it with Blooger, Wordpress and whatever blogging sites are available out there. Just so you know anything I would like to try my face is there. For instance, "Spaces" of MSN. I have set up an account there called Ms Dopey's Home. They have templates choices for you but could not really have full a full control of all the modules. Unless, I simply did not play around it as much. It is the same with AOL and Yahoo.

HOW ABOUT YOU?! What do you think of this sites? You are TAGGED.

New Post Old Post: Dumbbells are for Smart People

There was a point in my short time here on earth when I was insane about working out. I have been so inspired to be payatot dahil I was really tababoy, thats why I am called TiTABAna. I was so self conscious and was working out 3 times a day on weekday and all of my free time on weekdays…

I just got divorced then and my son would always be at his father’s house. I felt so lonely and was stirring away from the night life with Matilda. (may hangover pa kasi ako from the day before). On top of being lonely, it was the MEMORIAL weekend so everyone were busy with their family and shore plans. While me on the other hand was waiting for the time I would have to pick up my son and aunt so we can go down to AC to meet my friend Nans. For some insane reason I had this urge to work out for 3 hours straight (BORED KASI AKO!!!) So I went to do my one hour walk, then head to the gym for another hour. I was really killing TIME. It was only 8 am and I have nothing else to do… GRRRRR!!! Since I had 5 more hours to burn, I decided to do some leg lifts. I laid on the floor and did a little Winsor Pilates. Then I pulled the chair closer to me so I can do my leg lift. OUCH!!!! I was so dazed. I tried to brush it off and did a couple of leg lift. My head was really throbbing and I was sweating profusely. When I wiped my head with my hand, OH NO!!! I was bleeding. You got that right the idiotic dumbbells rolled over the stool and fell on my purty face…

I washed my face and was going to drive my self to the hospital As I was headed out, my aunt just arrive and asked what happened. so I told her my dopey story and she called Matilda. The funny part is I have to wait for no sleep Matilda who was in Philadelphia, to pick my Dopey ass to go to the hospital.

BTW, while waiting for Matilda you would think I would have forgotten about my camera.

Since I am trulili vain…

hihihi… my insanity did not stop there… i still drove to Atlantic City after 6 stitches

We have been discussing our next trip but haven't figure it out yet. There'a lot of cruises we would love to try and some secluded bed and breakfast places in Tennesse.

If you would recall a few decades ago, planning trips were handled by travel agents. They were the one assisting us in planning our trip from finding and booking our airfare and hotels. Now in this day and age, we usually refer to the internet which makes our travel plans feels like a breeze. Since the internet reaches all corners of the world it provides us with several selection and comparison.

Most resorts, hotels, motels, bed and breakfast, and cruises makes use of the power the internet holds. It helps them market their businesses openly to the entire world. With this in thought, our travel agent is now the internet making everything available right under our fingertips.

So have you decided to go on vacation? Maybe your job takes you to a distant city? Or does missing your family inspire you to pack your bags and just go? There are so many reasons to travel but no matter what the occasion might be, finding the best hotel, car rental and airfare for your money always makes the trip better.

If you are looking for best offers or just about to make a hotel reservation or book a flight. Stop and check out
Hotelreservations.com. Let them assist you in planning and making your travel reservation. They have several hotel discounts that would beat competitors prices. If you are traveling outside of the country, no problem. Hotel Reservations offers more than 70,000 properties worldwide.

As a matter of fact, we have used HotelReservations on our trip to the Poconos last year. No other companies could beat the price they offered for the beautiful Chateau Resort & Conference Center at Camelback Mountain in Mt. Pocono, Pennsylvania.

The Proper Way to Hug a Baby

I have a normal routine everyday. Italiano wakes me up, I make breakfast for Precious and then I take him to school. I work from 9-5 pick up my Precious and make dinner (sometimes order). Once all is said and done I sit in front of my pc and check my emails. And I found this one from Italiano's sister. I thought I knew it all but I was wrong.

Please read on and see the instructions on how to proper hug a Baby.

First, Spy a baby:

Second, be sure that the object you spied was indeed a baby by employing classic sniffing techniques. If you smell baby powder and the wonderful aroma of wet diapers this is indeed a baby.

Third, you will need to flatten the baby before actually beginning the hugging process.

**Note: The added slobber should help in future steps by making the 'paw slide' easier.

Fourth, The 'paw slide' -- Simply slide paws around baby and prepare for possible close-up.

Finally, if a camera is present, you will need to execute the difficult and patented 'hug, smile, and lean' so as to achieve the best photo quality.

Hope it made you smile!

Chapter 2: Sofia's Life

Sofia: Hello
Alex: Would you like to chat?
Sofia: Sure

One of her outlet is chatting with people online. She thinks of it as minggling and socializing without worrying what to wear. The Internet seems to be the place to meet intriguing and interesting people. As a matter of fact, she have meet a couple of people online and became really good friends with them. Of course, there was a time when this guy asked her if she would like to see him on his webcam. She thinks he looks and sounds pretty decent so she agreed. The moment she clicked on that box to accept the video, a big screend popped on her screen. It was the guy jerking off! So surprised on what she saw and started laughing. Since then her response is always "If you would show me your toy make sure you can suck it. If not then don't waste my time."

They were talking about birthdays and realize there birhtday is a week apart. His sense of humor has a touch of sarcasm but the way he delivers just makes her giggle. "Would you like to see me on my webcam?", Alex asked. For some reason, she was taken aback and was not able to answer him instantaneously. "Ha Ha Ha! Did I scare you? I just wanted to know if you would like to see my face. Just my face.", he claimed. She just started laughting and told him about her responses to men who asked her that question. "No, its totally general public." he said.

It was really late and Sofia was tired. She said goodnight. "If you would like to give me a call sometime, my number is 609-555-2222.", she added. "Oh so, I passed I now get an opportunity to call you.", Alex said teasingly. Sofia was just laughing as she read his last message. "For now I guess, it just happen that the laptop is burning my legs and I am tired starring at the screen. If I don't like to hear from you again, all I need to do is call my cell provider and change my number." and they started laughing.

Bobby was already up laying beside Sofia watching Disney Channel. "Good mornng, sweetpea. Don't you think its too early for you to be watching TV.", she asked. "Mom, I was trying really hard not to wake you up. So you won't say that to me.", he said. He really cracks me up. If you asked where he heard or seen the things he said and do his response is "Nothing, my Brain just think it." Sofia knows how much Bobby made things easy for her.

It was seven 9 years ago when Sofia met Bobby's father. Jason is 4 years older than Sofia. They have met online when she was still living in her nice cozy apartment in Long Beach, CA. As every relationship is everything started like a bud of flower, not knowing what to expect if it would bloom or die before it even flourish. Her relationship with him started to cramble down after Bobby was born. Jason was always the time Sofia spent with her son and family. After 8 years of marriage, she finally made the decision to move on with her life. They have been separated for 7 months when she sent him the divorce paper. He signed it and gave it to her on her 30th birthday. He was flamming in anger when she said, "Thank you. This is the best gift ever."

Spring is almost here!!!

Spring is almost here. Every spring, people are doing their spring cleaning. There will be a lot of garage sales in every corner. One thing I love about the spring is the idea that the trees will start blossoming. No more leaveless trees, no more dreary day.

Don't get me wrong. I love winter as well. It just gets to the point where it makes me feel depress.

Since spring is almost here, I have to get myself ready for SUMMER. We love going to the shore and lay by the beach. So what do I do? Yes, DIET. It has been removed to my vocabulary since Turkey day. All the fatty and greasy food was on top of my list. To top it all, since water ice is only available from March to September, I have been pigging out on ice cream. You think that the cold weather would stop me from going to COLD STONE CREAMERY which is right next door to the gym that we go to, then you are so WRONG.

I have started cutting down on my carbs and calorie in take last week. But dinner time is so difficult since I make a lot of fried rice. One trick I have learn is to eat many times but in small portions. I will be making a log of my calorie intake and let you know if it works. I know that healthy meals (NO CHOCOLATE AND CAKES!!! wAAAAAAAA!!!!!) match it with various cardio workout and light weight lifting then I should be ready for my two piece bathing suit!!! (I am still wishful thinking!)

Holy Week is here!

Holy Week is coming up. As a matter of fact, it is starting tomorrow. It is one of the most solemn religious practice in the Philippines. They have the cenaculos and pabasas. It is also the time they reenact the sufferings of Jesus. This entry will not be about the Catholics practices. It is more of the memories I have and how my family spent Holy Week. We had avery close family. When my Lolo (Grandfather) was still alive, our Holy Week was spent in travelling to different cities. Most of it was to Baguio City. It was a place established by the Americans the year 1900 and was designated by the Philippine Commission as the "Summer Capital" of the Philippines on June 1, 1903.

During the 1980's, the air was cleaner and the streets were not as congested as it is now a days.

Join me and let's dig in to my memory lane.

In one of our trips to Baguio City, I could remember an incident so vividly in my head. The treacherous path known as Kenon Road was really an adventure. As we navigated this widing course, I, at the age of 6, witnessed nature's true power. Falling rocks and high winds were our constant companion. Until a huge rock hit the windshield of our car, I was horrified. From there on, I would feel knots on my stomach as we go through that road.

In one of our trips, we stayed at the well-know Camp John Hay. It was one of the camp grounds the Americans built as the recreational area for the US Military and Department of Defense in the Far East. Every thing there was "AMERICAN".(that's the best description I could come up). You should have seen the excitement on my face when I have to hold a dollar and use the Ice Cream, Soda and Candy machine. I looked at my Uncle and remember saying, "This feels like in one of the movies I see!" OH those days when everything was so simple and things like that excites me. We went roller skating (the one with four wheels) and fell on my butt 11Dbillion times.

Being with my cousins and being the youngest, I have to play cool and went for a walk with them one night. The sun was just set. It was really foggy and cold. I was again having that knot in my tummy but I have to play toughie. We all went to a halt when we saw this playground called the Sleepy Hollow. I don't know about you but I watched a lot of Disney Shows and one of it was Ikabood at the Sleepy Hollow. The playground sat on a crater like hole and was covered with fog. The street was starting to look foggy as well. The air started to feel eerie. I started visualizing Freddy Kruger and the headless horseman. My cousins wanted to be a bit adventurous and decided to climb down the steps to the play ground. My cousing Mina and I looked at each other and started running back to the cottage. I was so terrified that evening and locked myself in the bedroom until I fell asleep. Oh yeah, the lights where on all night!

The next day, we went to Wright Park where you can go horse back riding and go for a boat ride. I was content, I told myself at the time I did not need an additional adventure. This is my kinda place "kiddie world".

This coming Holy Week, my family with my nephew and niece will be travelling to Baguio City. A new generation, new stories to tell and share. I sure do hope they all would have a great time and send me photos.

My New Template

I have been so busy fixing my blog house. There are so many layouts for bloggers but there's something I wanted in specific. As I was browsing Blogger Busters 101 Blogger Template, I came across the theme POLAROID. What caught my eye with the Polaroid theme is the uniqueness of the layout. The colors was not me so I tweaked it a little bit to much my persona. This template is created and designed by Adii which you can find on www.eblogtemplates. Now that I am content with the way my Island look I could concentrate on blogging.

Personalizing Your Blog Using Domain and Subdomain for Novice Users

There are bloggers who prefers to use Wordpress, Xanga, Blogger and others. I prefer to use blogger. I think it is just simple and easy to use, although Wordpress offer more plugins. After getting sucked in the blogosphere, I decided to purchase a domain for my MSPINKBIIK idea. I choose to purchase my domain name through "Google"eyes. After a few more entries and ideas, I asked myself if I have to purchase another domain if I wanted an extension for my blog. So I did my research and found my answer.

You don't have too!!! You can simply add subdomains by adding themn to your DNS setting. AHA! technical again. DNS is a domain name system which in simple terms the Internet Phone book.

If you haven't purchase your domain name, you can do it by going to your Settings tab--->Publishing. Your screen should now look like the image on the right. Now Click on the Custom Domain Your screen will now change and will ask you if you would like to buy a domain. Simply follow those steps until you are registered.

Once your domain is up and running, have your Customer ID and login ready. May I suggest for you to utilize the Google Apps that is offered with the purchase of your domain name through Google. The reason behind it, I just find it easy to go Maintain our Domain.

In your Google Apps, go to the Domain Settings--> Domain Names --> click on Advance DNS Settings. Now you should be looking at your Sign-in Name and password. Below this information you will find Sign in DNS Console, click on it. Your screen should look like the image below.

Now you can follow the instructions from Google eyes on how to create a CNAME (subdomain):

My domain was registerd with GO Daddy. If yours are registered with any of the host below please click the link

ix web hosting
1and1
EveryDNS.net
Yahoo!SmallBusiness
No-IP
DNS Park
Other hosting services

Log in to your account at www.godaddy.com.
1. Open the Domains tab and select My Domain Names. You'll be directed to the Manage Domains page.
2. Click the domain that you'd like to use with your blog. (it should be the one you will use for your blog)
3. Click the Total DNS Control And MX Records in the box entitled Total DNS Control.
4. Click Add New CNAME Record. If you've already created a CNAME record for your blog's address, click Edit next to the existing CNAME record.
5. For the Name, enter only the subdomain of the address you want to use for your blog. For example, if you picked www.mydomain.com as your address, enter www here.
Enter ghs.google.com as the Host Name.
6.Click Continue, and then click Add. If you're editing an existing CNAME record, click Continue and Update.

Hope it helped!!!

A Night for Myself

Today is about to end. It's two minutes past ten. The men in my life are sound asleep. I was surfing the sites of the other bloggers. Just finished with the Queen's site. His sense of humor is out of this world. I love him! Next stop is Buroat's Lietrary Ek-Ek. Hmmm, I just realize he's got an excellent choices on his ipod.

My day is usually work and family. So at night when Italiano and Precious are sound asleep. I listen to my classical and new age collection, sit infront of my laptop and search the web. Since I have a new hobby, I sit here and write my thoughts and views on anything.

I am still listening to Mr. Buraot's music selection. I really like Besame Mucho. I hope he will read this entry and tell me who sang it. His selections are really making me feel so at ease and grounded right now.

It makes me smile sometimes, wondering how things have turned in my life. Years back, I was sitting in my Physics class seating ham sandwich at the back of the room with my Magnolia Mango Juice. "What the hell?", I said to myself. Oh, Miss Mayor saw me eating and threw a chalk at me. Those were the good old days! I was never an excellent student. Another flashback, remember the earthquake I am not sure if it was 1990 or 1991. Everyone was praying the rosary I was like, SH!T! non stop. Then Lorelei screamed at me and told me to shup up and pray. I said, "I am praying but I need to get out of this building! I am too young to die!". They all looked at me so puzzled. Well, I guess I am always the different one. ( Just trying to be nice too myself and yes I am the pure definiton of a Weirdo.)
Ok my dear friends, its time for me to go to bed. I will have to wake up early tomorrow. Precious have an Ask Test tomorrow.

Ciao!

Brain fart

You have no clue how many sentences I have started with and ended deleting all of it. Yes, it is brainfart day for my pigness. At least, it did not rain today. The weather have been really crazy lately. This past Saturday, it was at least 67 degrees and none stop pouring rain. Italiano and I drove to Philly and it was horrendous! I am not sure if it was the traction of my car or just plain hydroplaning with all rain sitting on the interstate.

Saturday:
I did not want to open my eyes. I simply was dreading it because I am now officialy a senior citizen. I will be shopping at TJ Maxx on Wednesdays with Matilda and going for the early bird specials at Friendly's. ***sigh*** . "Happy Birthday, honey." as he gave me my birthday kiss and hug. He was dressed and was ready to step out of the door. "Stay there and I will be back." he said. He has this deep voice that melts me everytime he whispher in my ear. Being obdient as I am, I started getting ready.

After making the bed, I went to Precious room to get him ready for the party he begged me to attend a month ago. Him and his friends would be watching the Trenton Devils at the Comcast Stadium in Philly. He opened his eyes with excitement. He was really looking forward to this day. Pavaroti started playing! Oh no its my cell, my parents was greeting me a Happy Old DAY! "Mom, I forgot its your birthday." he said. He gave me a hug and said, "Can you go find me a paper?" I was a bit confuse and was wondering what he needed it for. I told him to go the small room and it should be under the table.

Italiano came back with breakfast and my dunkin donut coffee. We were about to sit at the dining table and Precious was running down the stair handing me his present. He said, "Mom, Happy birthday!". It was the white paper with his Pokemon drawings. It was the sweetest thing. I gave him a hug and a big mommy kiss and said Thank you, darling."

Our Civilization

"The Philippines is one of the two countries in Asia with Roman Catholic majorities."

Being born and raised as a catholic, it was imprinted in my head that we came from Adam and Eve. With this information, I've lost interest in science. I would retain information in order to pass my class but let it float out of my brain once the purpose was done. This entry is not to bash my faith or anyone else's. I am aware of the complexity and sensitivity of this topic.

Since I have touched it a bit, let me just tell you about a documentary I have seen on the internet sometime last year. It is called Zeitgeist. The hyperlink should take you to my entry. Just be aware, it's very intriguing.

It was a couple of days ago, Italiano and I were watching a documentary aired on National Geographic Channel about the beginning of civilization.

I have ignored Science and lost interest back when I was in Fourth Grade. I would listen and retain a tiny portion to pass but then flushes it out of my system. Now I just could not get enough. It feels like I wanted to engorge myself with all the information and knowledge I have ignored. Based on the archeological evidence they have found 12000 years ago, they were able to theorize the birth of our Civilization.

I am not sure when this would be aired again, my suggestion is to click on this hyperlink and request for a reminder from National Geographic.

Esmeralda's Dilema

Do you remember your childhood days? Do you miss those days when all are worries were based on what game will you be playing that day, making sure you finished your homework, the school projects, gym and recess. Yes, those were the days. Now as adults we are facing different trials. Do you ask the question? What happened to my life?

This blog is not meant to be for the broken hearted or confused souls. I just happen to be asked about my point of view on certain situation and was asked to write it so they could share it to someone else. We will be calling our couple Claudio and Esmeralda.

Claudio and Esmeralda have been married for 10 years now. They met back when there were in college. Unlike Ramonok and Clementine, Claudio and Esmeralda walked down the isle and profess their love. Exchanged vows and promised and said "I will love you forever. Through sickness and health, till death do us part."

It all started when Claudio was offered a job in Seattle, WA. He acquired a working visa and immediately was able to bring his wife and child here in the US. What more could you ask for? It fulfilling the American Dream. But Claudio missed the Philippines and would rather be back home. Since he was making a decent income back in the Philippines, he tried to convince Esmeralda. She on the other hand experience independence in her new home. Working, making a career for herself, she wanted to stay. They made an arrangement to try the long distance relationship.(First sign of wrong freaking move?) In their head, their marriage will not be deterred that their love and devotion to each other was "built strong". (Good luck to that! Ford thanks!)

As years passed, Claudio as a man has his manly needs that needed to be stroked. He started screwing around. (What a moron?!) Of course Esmeralda found out! They ended up talking and giving their marriage another chance. He flew to the US but could not get a job where Esmeralda currently resides. He ended up working in Florida. (What a way to work things out?) Coming home to Esmeralda was such a burden for Claudio because of the cost. Guess what?! Now he is dating two other woman. He already told her that if she wanted to file for divorce, he will understand. But she refuses to file for a divorce. (Gaga! Martyrdom is all part of my grandmother's time. Even sappy love stories don't tend to it nowadays.)

Please understand that this is base to what I was told. If it is inaccurate, I do apologize. Now Here is my view and questions: What I don't understand is why hold on to a marriage where there is no loyalty? Why hold on to someone when he can't commit to you and most importantly your child? Don't you think the marriage is only worth saving when both party is on the same page? He moved on when he made a decision to sleep with another lost soul. You do not need this aggrevation and need to start realizing yourself worth. You have to enjoy life too. Keeping your marriage (God forgive me for saying this) with no affection or a one way street, will only hinder you from moving on in search of the new you. No man is worth keeping when all they do his cause you turmoil. Is it worth the stress? Your child will understand in time that you need to be able to keep your sanity. You need to be happy. Trust me, happiness and your freedome will take you to a different realm that you could not even fathom in your dreams. Good luck, Esmeralda. I know you have your reasons and the choice is all yours. People around you could only guide you and support on the decision you will make.

"I am not a doctor or a psychologist or a love doctor. As I have said this is just my point of view. "

Sofia - the moment she fell in love

I could barely open my eyes ... "Damn it!", I said to myself. I must have drunk a gallon again last night. I can still smell the tequilla I consumed. I just brushed it off and told myself it was your birthday party anyway. I ran to the bathroom and took a quick shower. Argh! My head is still pounding. "At least you don't reak anymore!", I told myself. I went to my son's room to get him ready for school. Again, I was a bit too late. He was up and all ready for school, thanks to my adoring Aunt.

"Good morning mom!" and he gave me a big kiss and hug. "How was your old people birthday party?", he asked smiling at me. I said, "It was so boring, sweepie. It would have been ecstatic if you where with Mommy." Actually, I could hardly recall the events that transpired last night. I won't tell my sunshine that of course. We both had breakfast then off to his school.

My work schedule was a bit hectic. I had meeting and conference call scheduled all day. The reports to be finalize to submit to our parent company in Finland. I love it when its busy at work, it makes the day seem shorter. After my final conference call, it was 6pm. I shut my computer off and drove home.

"Mommy's home!" I yelled. My son was running towards me and gave me a big hug. He took my bag and place it down on the couch. "Mommy sit here and watch Tarzan with me.", I sat down and relaxed. My Aunt was making Crispy Pata and Fried Rice. The aroma made me realize I have not eaten all day. I helped my Aunt set the table and the three of us had dinner. I felt gorged after dinner. That's when it dawned on me that I did not go to the gym today. Ah! Great dinner like this is worth it.

Bobby and I sat down on the couch and watched Harry Potter, before he went to bed. He knows Mommy loves to watch Harry Potter. We sat the movie we both have seen so many times. But it does not matter. He had a great time talking while watching the movie. He was telling about the other kids at school. The games they played and the new things he learned. He was like, "Mom, do you know who infented the electricity?". "Hmmmm, let me see. OH I know its me!" I said jokingly. He started laughing and said you are always silly mom. Its time for him to get ready for bed.

It was Mommy's alone time. I went to my room and closed the door. After my separation from Bobby's father, I have established a nightly routine well that is if Betsie wasn't dragging me out to party. But since I still have a hang-over from last night it would be good to just relax watch a movie and go online. "I wonder if my sister would be online tonight."

I turn the tv on and grap my laptop and signed on to Yahoo Messenger. A window popped up "Alex: Hi!"

to be continued when I feel like it lol.......

Blogging is good for our Health!!!!

To my fellow bloggers. After blogging constantly this past few months, I have been able to let out most of my build-up frustrations and thoughts. Reading info's from one blogger to the other, leaving comments and messages to other bloggers, made me feel connected to others. I have seen people who have same views as I do and some who opposes them. All of these pros and cons are excellent if you ask me. I know you will ask how does blogging comes into role with our health. Just keep reading...

As my daily ritual, I found this article on Discovery News discussing the effects of blogging to people. If you are an OFW (Overseas Filipino Workers), and feeling isolated and becoming depress. Blogging should be able to help you relieving that mental state.

"The research, from Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, found after two months of regular blogging, people felt they had better social support and friendship networks than those who didn't blog."

So lets keep blogging. Not only it is good for our mental health but also for our pocket health... keep blogging...

High Heels and Sex Life, they have a connection!!!

I love wearing my stilettos. I think I only have 2 pairs of flat shoes, 2 sneakers and a bowling bowl shoes then the rest of my 3 dozen pairs are stilettos and pumps. (Sorry I just love shoes!) As I was looking at my favorite sites I found an article with this heading, "Improve Sex Life by Wearing High Heels". "What a catchy heading?!", I told myself. I clicked on and read the benefits women gets from wearing shoes at least 2" heels.

According to the article, the shoes are not magical. It has nothing to do with how sexy the shoes looks. The study conducted by an Italian Urologist Dr. Maria Cerruto of the University of Verona made her conclude wearing high heels gives a workout to the pelvic floor muscles, the pleasure muscles that are linked to orgasm.

Cerruto's study was based of 66 women under age 50. She found that those who held their foot at a 15-degree angle to the ground had posture that was just as good as those who wore flat shoes. But these women also showed less electrical activity in their pelvic muscles, which indicates those muscles were at an optimum position. Cerruto maintains this could improve the strength and ability of the pelvic muscles to contract. These muscles assist sexual performance and satisfaction, as well as provide vital support to the pelvic organs, which include the bladder, bowels and uterus.
