There are bloggers who prefers to use Wordpress, Xanga, Blogger and others. I prefer to use blogger. I think it is just simple and easy to use, although Wordpress offer more plugins. After getting sucked in the blogosphere, I decided to purchase a domain for my MSPINKBIIK idea. I choose to purchase my domain name through "Google"eyes. After a few more entries and ideas, I asked myself if I have to purchase another domain if I wanted an extension for my blog. So I did my research and found my answer.
You don't have too!!! You can simply add subdomains by adding themn to your DNS setting. AHA! technical again. DNS is a domain name system which in simple terms the Internet Phone book.
If you haven't purchase your domain name, you can do it by going to your Settings tab--->Publishing. Your screen should now look like the image on the right. Now Click on the Custom Domain Your screen will now change and will ask you if you would like to buy a domain. Simply follow those steps until you are registered.
Once your domain is up and running, have your Customer ID and login ready. May I suggest for you to utilize the Google Apps that is offered with the purchase of your domain name through Google. The reason behind it, I just find it easy to go Maintain our Domain.
In your Google Apps, go to the Domain Settings--> Domain Names --> click on Advance DNS Settings. Now you should be looking at your Sign-in Name and password. Below this information you will find Sign in DNS Console, click on it. Your screen should look like the image below.
Now you can follow the instructions from Google eyes on how to create a CNAME (subdomain):
My domain was registerd with GO Daddy. If yours are registered with any of the host below please click the link
