One thing I did not realize is a checklist a bride needed to go through to plan a wedding. I know I have been married before and honestly, it was just me and my Precious dad who attended our wedding. No reception, no nothing. So this engagement with Cyclops is going to be my real experience of a wedding. The date is set which will be in September of 2010. We have already have a list of the people we would be inviting but we have not sent out any Save-the-Date cards. Cyclops mom asked me if I could get married in a church. I really don't know the answer to it. I assumed since I was never married in a Church that it would be not be an issue. Of course no assumption is a 100% guaranteed. I searched my best friend google and found out that I needed to get my marriage annulled before I could be married in a church!!!! Apparently, it does not matter what congregation you where married. As long as you have been married prior, it needed to be annulled. Here are additional fact that I found:
Are annulments expensive?
Fees associated with the annulment process vary within the U.S. Most tribunals charge between $200 and $1,000 for a standard nullity case. Fees are typically payable over time, and may be reduced or even eliminated in cases of financial difficulty. Other expenses may be incurred when consultation with medical, psychological, or other experts is needed.
How long does it take to get an annulment?
It usually takes 12 to 18 months to complete the entire process.

anooovvaaahhh...i thought divorce is enough in the states..well i guess iba sa catholic church...eh kung mag garden wedding nalang kayo...may pari parin naman dun diba?so whats your plan?pero you know what..annullment is good atleast wala ka na talaga connection sa ex mo...whats a couple of bucks naman for your peace of mind and freedom diba?
may damit ka na?souvenirs?mga gamit?reception??honeymoon??hehehe...mabaliw ka bakla!!
Divorce is enough but not in the eyes of the Church. I still need to get that marriage annulled which would mean I have to deal with the x to get some paperwork sign. since we are in no friendly situation, I doubt it would happen.
In addition, I can be married by anyone who is ordained. Remember the TV show FRIENDS, where Joey got ordained through the internet to marry Monica and Chandler
Naku sis! I am so excited for you!
Oo maraming checklist ang bride to be. Baka gusto mo ng tulong :) I can help you out I have all those checklist and everything lol I was suppose to get married a year ago pero di natuloy ... long story hahahahaa.
Anyway, yeah if you were married before you need to get an annulment if you married here in the Philippines. Kung may tanong ka lang holer me anjan lang ako sa tabi tabi.
Mwahs so happy for you! Congrats talaga.
By the way, I would like to invite you to join a tag for the Philippines and all Filipino bloggers in the world. It's the Filipinos Unite Prayer tag up in my blog. I hope you join.
Have a great week ahead!

I am really excited as well. My first marriage was done at the City Hall here in the US. Since we "needed" to be married in a church, my first marriage "needed" to be annulled.
But anyway, thank you so much.
JOSHKO.. what is this world coming to?
Chuva na dapa ka sa burakan!!!! to answer your question... my baby biik will not be become legitimate according the Diocese kasi daw....
"The legitimacy of children is determined by the laws of the states. Just as a divorce does not make children illegitimate, neither does an annulment granted by the Church. The laws of the Church state that children born of a supposedly valid union are legitimate children. Therefore, if the marriage is later shown to have been invalid, the status of the children remains unchanged: they are legitimate."
